Ironically, I was given a VertuoLine machine as a gift before I even started working for Nespresso. The person that gave me the gift sent a few sleeves of Caramelizio along with the machine, and it became my favorite blend that the brand makes. I’m not a caramel fan at all, but it’s unbelievable how good it tastes. You don’t even have to add any sweetener, just a little bit of milk and it’s perfect.
It brings me right back to our brand. Caramelizio is a unique coffee blend that’s made possible by what our team at Nespresso does every day. Everything we do is dedicated to building an awesome coffee experience for our customers. That all comes down to us doing things the right way – we are always thoughtful, and we don’t take short cuts. It may sound like this strategy is opposed to valuing other considerations like maximizing profits and minimizing costs, but when you really look at the big picture, doing business well is good business.
My work with Nespresso began when I had the opportunity to come over from Nestlé USA. Across the board, Nestlé is an amazing brand, and at Nespresso we really try to leverage all the equity that brand has. Plus, to be perfectly honest, Nespresso is a really cool brand to work on.
When you join marketing here, you get to work through a lot of fun challenges. Not all brands can say that. Also, it’s a really dynamic environment. We use so many touchpoints as a brand and our technology is constantly shifting and evolving. That means you have to evolve along with it, which leads to a lot of learning opportunities and a lot of growth.
The people that are the most successful here come with a passion to make a difference in their role and are ready to be team players. We are one group dedicated to one brand, so there is a lot of teamwork going on all the time. And so many of the people in the marketing group are at the top of their game. We all work really hard, and we are all working to find solutions and to achieve the same goals. Even with that focus, you need to have some flexibility, adaptability, and agility too. This is a fast business, so you have to have the room to move with it. But if you put in the effort, you can gain experiences here that you couldn’t get anywhere else.
